Why MDS?
With electric motors and motor driven systems in industry and commerce, together with pumps, fans and compressors, comprising 40% of the world's total electricity consumption, it is clear that this is an area demanding careful analysis and positive action.

Given that there is existing, new and future legislation that many are not aware of, as well as new and existing technologies that offer the potential to reduce the energy demand of motor systems across the global economy by 20% to 30% with short payback periods, then clearly there are huge challenges as well as many potential savings opportunities.
Post-Event Comments
“The inaugural Motor Driven Systems conference was a terrific opportunity to network with motor industry leaders and industrial energy efficiency champions. The presentations provided a wealth of information on improvements in motor efficiency, as well as those for pump, fan and compressor systems. I will definitely attend the conference again next year.” Alex Chausovsky, Research Director, IMS Research
“Rittal is delighted to have been involved with the inaugural MDS Conference, and to align its market leading products with the important ‘systems engineering and energy efficiency’ issues being addressed by the event. The quality of the papers was excellent, which helped fuel some very interesting discussions within the Networking Lounge.” John Wilkins, Marketing Services Manager, Rittal Ltd
“The Motor Driven System Conference proved successful in attracting distinguished national and international presenters and attendees. The variety of participants which included professionals from manufacturing, marketing and academia subsequently ensured the attendees left the 2011 conference with a clear understanding of the issues and opportunities surrounding this sector.” Steve Schofield, Deputy Director, BPMA
"The inaugural MDS conference was a great opportunity for the five related industries of motors, control, pumps, fans and compressors to educate and inform on past, present and future issues in their fields. In addition to the knowledge sharing at the event, it will serve as a platform for greater collaboration between the Associations, bringing added value to the members." Steve Brambley, Deputy Director, GAMBICA
